Healing Action Network

Programs
at a Glance

At Healing Action Network, we partner with survivors and communities across Missouri to end trafficking and exploitation. Through three interconnected programs, we offer practical support, build coordinated responses, and strengthen the statewide safety net so adults can heal on their own terms and communities can prevent harm before it happens.

Our Programs

Programs

The Center for Survivors

The Center for Survivors provides comprehensive recovery services for adults impacted by trafficking and exploitation. We offer intensive service management; individual and group therapy; peer support; a welcoming drop-in center; psychoeducation and skills groups; and housing navigation and placement. Our approach prioritizes safety, choice, and dignity—meeting people where they are, coordinating across systems, and removing barriers to care. We serve adults with lived experiences across the continuum, including sex trafficking, prostitution, stripping, escorting, pornography, and survival sex. All services are survivor-led, confidential, and free of charge. By stabilizing basic needs, building connection, and supporting self-defined goals, the Center helps members move from crisis toward sustained healing and hope.

Coalition Against Trafficking and Exploitation (CATE)

CATE is Missouri’s statewide coalition dedicated to preventing and responding to trafficking and exploitation. We bring together agencies, survivors, and community partners to align efforts and raise standards across the state. CATE convenes focused workgroups, advances policy and systems improvements, and produces research and data that guide effective responses. A cornerstone of CATE is a comprehensive training program for every experience level—from clear introductions for newcomers to advanced, role-specific skill building. Participants learn indicators and common myths, safe and appropriate response steps, reporting and referral pathways, and strategies for cross-system coordination. Together, these efforts strengthen a consistent, high-quality service network where survivor safety is prioritized and communities are better equipped to prevent and address exploitation.

Volunteer Service Link

Volunteer Service Link expands capacity statewide by connecting trained volunteers to Missouri victim service organizations. The program is designed to increase identification of survivors of trafficking and exploitation, improve data collection practices, and cultivate a diverse pool of community members prepared to respond safely and effectively. As an umbrella agency with the Corporation for National and Community Service, Volunteer Service Link streamlines participation for host sites: rather than managing a full federal grant, agencies receive technical assistance to run their projects and benefit from simplified reporting. Volunteers can choose from a range of roles across Missouri—gaining skills, building relationships, and strengthening the safety net that survivors rely on.
